His stage name is Kirk Fredo and his real names are Fred mutyaba, born from Luweero District. The 24 years old youth of the Lugave clan is a performing artiste a son to Mr and Mrs Sserunjoji Francis residents of Kayunga township. Fred grew up with his grandmother in Butuntumula sub-county of Luweero district.

Fred Mutyaba attended Buzirandulu Primary School and stopped in Senior Five at Luwere Secondary School and he continued with playing a guitar at Luwero Chapel Choir. In the year 2007, Fred Mutyaba also known as Kirk Fred, found his way to Kampala and he got a hand from afew friends who later introduced him Pr. Irene Manjeri. In 2008, he joined Pastor Bugembe who has always encouraged him to be a believer and at times taught him how to go about with music.

Fred has always dreamt of recording a song but all in vain since he could not afford the studios fee in Kampala, but early 2009, the ever smiling son of God, tried his luck in of the city studios but the the song did not come out well and he had to drop it before wasting any other single penny on it. Later after almost a year, Fred composed and recorded his second track code named “Katonda Designer”, well; the song was so good that a few circular Ugandan artistes asked him to shoot a video for it for they wanted to be part of this gospel video. Later after almost a year, Fred composed and recorded his second track code named “Katonda Designer”, well; the song was so good that a few circular Ugandan artistes asked him to shoot a video for it for they wanted to be part of this gospel video. Fred did not have the money again for video shooting and so artistes decided to lend him a hand. The video was the shot in the ghettos of Nakulabye a suburb in Kampala where stays.

In 2011 after the elections, Kirk again went to studio and recorded a single called Kusika Muguwa amd this paved way for his career. He was invited in Europe to perform on stage for the youths in Denmark and Amsterdam. He came back to Uganda and started up the FRED MUTYABA CHARITY HOME that caters for the homeless and needy street kids. According to our reporter, the Charity now has over 17 children all under this uprising gospel artiste. Early this year, Kirk geared up his music career and as you read now, he has just released his new song called Natural Love and he says that the video is coming soon. According to Fred, he narrates that his love for music is inspired by American superstar Kirk Franklin. Ladies and gents, lets all support Fred Mutyaba.

Who is Rain Commando ?

Rain Commando originally known as Ssentongo Mathias was born 25 years back to the late Sentongo Micheal and Mrs Nambatya Winfred who is a resident of Najjembe parish off the Lugazi – Jinja highway road. Rain Commando attended a couple of primary schools before joining Lugazi Secondary School where he finished his advanced level.
After trying out number jobs here and there without any achievement, Commando moved to Kampala to start a new life in the year 2005 and he ended up in Kazo (a suburb in Kampala) where he joined village-mates from Najjembe in search for a better existence.

In 2007, Rain Commando had saved some little dime that enabled him set up a stall and in a few months, he became a successful hawker vending second hand cloths in Kampala’s biggest Market Owino. Just like any other talented musician, the passion and love for music always made him a lazy man and at one time he was forced to quit the hawking business so that he concentrates on his music career.

In March 2008, Rain Commando composed a song he code named Balungi that he sung with one Budaman and the truth is, the song did not thrust him any where. Critics who listened to his first song commented that the whole project was fake ranging from the artiste himself, the producer and also the composition was appalling.
Commando never gave up with music and towards the end of 2008, Rain Commando managed to record a track titled “Kankuwaane” which introduced him to a smaller audience and he started doing performances as a curtain raiser on big concerts in Kampala.

In February 2009, Rain Commando went to studio to record a song that he had named “Ozungazunga”. After doing the track for Azungazunga with Producer Kays, Commando decided to go and do the voicing of the same track with D-Records. It’s therefore from D-Records where he met 32 year old Kalanda Moses also known as Eighton who had also gone to record a song. At that moment, Eighton was impressed with Commando’s track and this forced him to ask Commando if they could release it as a collabo. Commando accepted the idea the next day, the two guys came up with a nice composition of a song they later named “Kiwoko” and not Ozungazunga as before. Have you now discovered that two heads are better than one?

Kiwoko later became a national hit and this strengthened the relationship between Rain and Eighton. Actually Ugandans who loved the song started referring to them as “Bakiwoko”. After the Kiwoko hit, Rain Commando composed new songs like Matta, Sondera and Ngattozo. His mate also composed Papaali, Mr DJ and also more hits that made these Rain and Eighton big house-hold names in Uganda’s music industry.

Late 2012, me and Eighton got miss understandings and today as you read my discography, am a solo artiste signed with the Money Makers Entertainment and ever since my separation with Eighton, I have managed to come up with songs like: Ndisa Butti, Byanfuna, Hello Hello, Gunyamuka, Bar Attendant, Abebigambo and lots more coming soon. Ladies and gents especially those who love and listen to my music, I will always appreciate your support, may the Almighty creator bless you all for me.

The always on & off maama baby to former Eagles production member Fred Serugga, one Catherine Kusasira is at it again. Sources from Seguku truly prove to us that Leone Island crew boss Jose Chameleone is busy in studios recording another collabo with guttural voiced artiste Catherine Kusasira of Eagles Production.

On his return from the recent Leone island UK Easter tour, Chameleone found a big load on his table and one of them was a collabo with Kusasira which she had already requested him last year. Now our reporters have proved that these two music stars have started recording a song that we are yet to identify its title. But still, It seems that Kusasira is really got tired of men, this is because she is always castigating them, even when she has a chance of doing something or anything that will be a sure deal. The song sounds good and is assured of massive air play but won’t the lamenting put some of her fans off? This is just a suggestion may be its time Cathy reconsidered going back to her man! t over the rampant piracy trend in the country.

The International Music Council (IMC) is the world’s leading professional organization dedicated to the promotion of musical diversity and musical rights. IMC was founded in 1949. The initiative to hold a biennial World Forum on Music was launched at the IMC’s 30th General Assembly in Montevideo (2003). Three editions have taken place since: in Los Angeles in 2005, Beijing in 2007, Tunis in 2009; the last edition attracted about 200 participants from 59 nations.

The biennial IMC World Forum on Music is conceived as an influential global knowledge-building platform on music and society in the 21st century, which explores a variety of topics from diverse perspectives: cultural, political and economical. The forum provides the opportunity for government officials, private sector executives, music managers, activists, scholars and practitioners to engage in high-level, cross-disciplinary debates and to design the course of action for the future.

It was during the just concluded 4th world forum on music that took place in the European cultural city 2011 Tallinn-Estonia, that Uganda musicians union represented by the education secretary was accepted as a full member of the IMC. this gives UMU many opportunities ranging from networking with internationally acclaimed cultural organizations and individuals, to even establishing its roots more deeper locally, enabling it further to play its role of advocating for just remunerations of its members and enhance relationships with government to enable enactment of applicable policies that will secure to musicians a fair share of the value generated by their musical works.
